Community Development
The RIEDC encourages and promotes economic development of new and existing industries and businesses within the State. The Office of Community Economic Development (OCED) offers assistance to Cities and Towns, in alliance with their local officials, chambers and elected officials, to guide and support a community's planned economic growth.
The Office of Community Economic Development will focus on improving the State's economy in alliance with all 39 cities and towns while promoting economic growth intelligently and preserving the quality of life we presently enjoy. Our goal is to create good paying jobs by attracting new commercial and industrial developments while recognizing the importance of expanding and retaining our existing businesses, which serve as the backbone of our economy.
